The Beacon: Where Teen Connection Strengthens Mental Health

An Inclusive Teen Wellness Center
Teen-designed and teen-led, The Beacon offers inclusive programming that introduces mindfulness, self-awareness, and emotional literacy, empowering teens to advocate for themselves and one another as they learn to care for their mental health. From creative arts and mindfulness groups to social gatherings and self-care workshops, The Beacon's programs center around building teen's emotional literacy, strengthening peer connections, and developing strategies for self-care and advocacy.
The Beacon is open to all high school students in the Pittsburgh region, regardless of faith or background. Facilitated by trained staff, The Beacon offers a judgment-free space where young people can find joy, build resilience, and support one another.
— Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. Austin DavisI see so many young people who are getting an opportunity here to not only develop social skills, but also are developing real life skills for the future. The Beacon is a model of what we should be doing in communities all over the commonwealth.

Interested in Joining The Beacon?
The Beacon welcomes high school students from across Greater Pittsburgh to become members. Membership is free; however, we do require an agreement to abide by the rules that enable us to provide a relaxing, substance-free, and supportive social space for teens to connect and thrive. Like the Friendship Circle of Pittsburgh, programming and the environment is developed to be inclusive to the needs of our members. Please contact Rachael at rlynch@beaconpgh.org.
The Beacon is not a walk-in space, and requires prior signup via the "Get to Know You" Form linked below.
