The Friendship Circle of Pittsburgh

Michael Machosky

Grant Development & Communications Coordinator

Michael Machosky arrived at the Friendship Circle after two years at Crossroads Foundation, an educational-access nonprofit in Point Breeze. Before that, he had more than 3,000 stories published in major-market metropolitan newspapers, including the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Pittsburgh City Paper, and the Times of Israel. He has worked as a movie critic, a restaurant critic, and a reporter covering music, art, history, books, food, neighborhoods, technology, and architecture, among many other things. Mike has also worked as a Public Relations Strategist for Markowitz Communications, helping to promote clients like the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium, Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh, and Cirque du Soleil. He currently writes a column about housing and the neighborhoods of Pittsburgh for Pittsburgh City Paper: “Affordable-ish Housing in Pittsburgh.” Teen mental health is an issue near to Michael’s heart, and he is excited to find and tell Friendship Circle’s stories and to help inspire others to support its mission.
