Our Spaces: Friendship Circle
A Place to Build Community
The Friendship Circle building is a vibrant community hub where inclusive friendships come to life. Once the beloved Gullifty’s restaurant, the space was thoughtfully restored - including the original movie theater façade and marquee, which we now use to share community messages and announcements. Inside, the gallery area offers a window into our community, intentionally highlighting the talents and successes of individuals with disabilities, because visibility is what helps shift community mindset.
At the center of the building is the Great Room, a flexible gathering space that can transform from a movie theater with a full-size projector and screen to a holiday celebration, community dinner, or large program event. Just off the Great Room, our professional-grade kitchen supports both catering and programming, with adjustable-height work tables that allow everyone to gather around the food and cook together.
The first floor also features a teen lounge designed for connection and fun, with accessible gaming equipment, air hockey, and flexible furniture that can adapt for younger members when needed. A nearby sensory “bubble room” offers a quiet space for members to reset during programs. Upstairs, accessible workspaces support our staff alongside fellows and interns - with and without disabilities - working together in an inclusive professional environment, while a parent lounge overlooks the activity below.
Crowning the building is our rooftop deck and garden - a special gathering place with lush greenery, a pergola, shade sails, and heating elements, creating a beautiful setting for celebrations, outdoor work, or simply spending time together above the city.
