More Than A Spa Night

The first thing you noticed wasn't the manicure station or the candle-making table.

It was the hugs.

Moms who hadn't seen each other since camp or the last program greeted one another like old friends. Conversations started before anyone even sat down and throughout the evening, laughter seemed to carry from one corner of the room to the next.

For one night, the focus wasn't on schedules, appointments or everything waiting at home. It was on the moms.

Some settled in for a manicure while others enjoyed a massage or had their makeup done. A few tried a face mask before wandering over to make candles to take home. Between appointments, plates were filled with food, conversations continued and new friendships started alongside old ones.

Suzanna D'Atri smiled as she looked around the room.

"Mom's Night is a great opportunity to get pampered. I never get a manicure except for Mom's Night and it's also great to reconnect with all the other moms," she said.

That feeling of reconnecting seemed to echo throughout the evening. This year's turnout was one of the largest yet, giving families an encouraging start to the new program year and filling the room with a sense of excitement for what's ahead.

For Becky McGough, it wasn't just the spa treatments that stood out.

"The food was amazing—it was really delicious. I also made a candle, which I've never done before, and that was so much fun. Meeting other women who have shared experiences is always meaningful," she said.

By the end of the night, fresh manicures and handmade candles were headed home, but so were conversations that had picked up where they left off and a renewed sense of connection.

Because sometimes the best part of Mom's Night isn't what's on the services menu.

It's looking across the room and realizing you're surrounded by people who understand.
