Walk4Friendship 2024!

Despite the rainy weather on Sunday, we still enjoyed an exciting day of connection and fun for this year’s Walk4Friendship! After gathering in front of The Friendship Circle on Murray Avenue for a warm-up and some Bunny Bakes coffee, we walked together to Wightman Park for a carnival celebration. Together we enjoyed carnival food, face paint, games, and music, all while helping each other stay dry! Thanks to our wonderful community of members, families, and supporters, we gathered over 400 participants and raised over $180,000 to help us continue our mission of disability inclusion. Sounds like the perfect day to me!

FOTT Wellness

FOTT Wellness members participated in an engaging pop Zumba class! Wellness host committee members led us in opening dance activities, while our instructor Kim kept the fun choreography flowing! Members loved the custom playlist and dancing to their song requests, and the healthy and delicious post movement snacks. We are looking forward to our next FOTT Wellness in January!

South Hills Cooking Club

The second South Hills Cooking Club was a tremendous hit, with members fully embracing the Chicago carnival theme. The menu featured classic favorites like hot dogs, soft pretzels, and dirt pudding. Andy W. wowed everyone with his expertly crafted Chicago-style dog, while Sara Gross had a blast crushing cookies for the dirt pudding. Everyone is excited for the grand finale of the fall cooking club series on Tuesday, November 19th!

Be Strong!

TwitterFacebookLinkedinPrintemailA WEEKLY TORAH THOUGHT FROM RABBI MORDY This week’s Parsha – Vayechi – concludes the Book of Genesis. Upon its conclusion, the synagogue traditionally calls out in unison, “Chazak chazak venischazek!” This translates to mean, “Be strong, be strong and may we be strengthened,” thus giving us a little inspiration and charge to move on into the next book, and… Read More
