Gymnastics and Rock Climbing Club Wrap Up

On Sunday, FC hosted the last sessions of our winter Gymnastics Club. Friends enjoyed practicing tumbling, working on their balance, and jumping on the trampoline! The zipline at Gymkhana was the favorite among both sessions! Grunnah shared that she enjoyed working on her front flip during this winter series. Wolf shared that he enjoyed all of the sessions and practicing gymnastics with his friends! Special thank you to Grunnah and Arielle for being mentors.

Teen Scene members came together on Sunday for our final Rock Climbing Club session at ASCEND Point Breeze! They had a blast pushing themselves to new heights and taking part in some friendly competitions. Naomi and Micah cheered each other on as they reached the top, while Binny, J, and Refoel conquered the tallest wall in the gym! We are excited for more adventures to come soon!

I-Volunteer

At IVolunteer, friends came together to learn about Chanukkah and participate in a meaningful service project for the JOY Program. This initiative supports adults living in group homes, many of whom are far from Squirrel Hill and don’t always have the opportunity to celebrate Jewish holidays with their peers.

Our members had an amazing time collaborating with the Howard Levin Clubhouse to create Chanukkah kits. Each kit was thoughtfully filled with crafts, dreidels, and handwritten notes. A special shoutout to Amanda Diaz for doing an outstanding job packing the kits!

We’re excited for more opportunities to give back and make a difference in our community.

It’s a wild ride (mind all the puns) marked by leads of corruption in this newly created world that needs to undergo a “cleansing,” or mass tragic flood that wipes out most of the population… Read More

Same but Different

TwitterFacebookLinkedinPrintemailA WEEKLY TORAH THOUGHT BY RABBI MORDY And so it begins. We concluded the Torah on Simchat Torah, this past Wednesday, with joy and singing and dancing, only to immediately turn around and begin again. The same but different cycle to be sure, the beauty found in seeking new meaning in the Parsha—we are have all changed from our internal… Read More

Get Happy! (Seriously!)

TwitterFacebookLinkedinPrintemailA WEEKLY TORAH THOUGHT BY RABBI MORDY This week, as mentioned last week, we don’t technically read a specific Parsha. We read a special reading from the Torah associated with Sukkot; on Wednesday, Simchat Torah, we will actually read the final portion (V’zot habracha). So I’m going to share a brief thought on Sukkot in that spirit. Sukkot is seriously… Read More
