Friendship Fellows

Mission:

The mission of the Friendship Fellows program is to provide an experience in which individuals of diverse abilities contribute to The Friendship Circle office in meaningful ways, gain confidence in their abilities, and learn new skills, all while being immersed in a supportive environment.

About Us:

We believe that all individuals have valuable assets. By supporting and enhancing those assets in The Friendship Circle office, the individual served in the Friendship Fellows Program will gain confidence in their abilities and will be able to contribute in meaningful ways in and out of The Friendship Circle.

The Friendship Fellows contribute to Friendship Circle in various ways:

  • In-Office Program

    • Our in-office Friendship Fellows program is comprised of 12 adult individuals who come into our Friendship Circle office on a weekly basis to assist in completing a multitude of office projects.
  • Community Partnerships

    • The mission of our collaborations with community employers is to foster a connection that leads to a better understanding of the value of hiring Friendship Fellow members.
  • Virtual “Hellos with Fellows”

    • Since March of 2020, we have been able to accommodate our Friendship Fellows members on a virtual platform by hosting weekly “Hellos with Fellows” meetings from home. These meetings are a way for each Fellow to touch base with the Friendship Fellows Coordinator to catch up, participate in at-home projects, and brainstorm ways that they can continue to contribute.
  • Additional Friendship Fellows Contributions:

    • Blog
      • The Friendship Fellows are the main contributors to our Friendship Circle blog. The blog allows Fellows members to express their interests, and showcase their posts to the greater community on a weekly basis.

If You See Something, Say Something

A WEEKLY TORAH THOUGHT FROM RABBI MORDY One of my favorite episodes in the Torah takes place in this week’s Parsha (Vayera) between Abraham and G-d. G-d tells Abraham of his plans to destroy Sodom and Abraham challenges Him. Why must the entire city be destroyed? Aren’t there some folks there worthy of redemption, a few righteous folks in whose… Read More

Weekly Roundup: November 15, 2024

Walk4Friendship 2024! Despite the rainy weather on Sunday, we still enjoyed an exciting day of connection and fun for this year’s Walk4Friendship! After gathering in front of The Friendship Circle on Murray Avenue for a warm-up and some Bunny Bakes coffee, we walked together to Wightman Park for a carnival celebration. Together we enjoyed carnival food, face paint, games, and… Read More

Get Out!

A WEEKLY TORAH THOUGHT FROM RABBI MORDY This was an eventful week. For many it was devastating; for others, it was cause for celebration. It seems we at least can be sure that our country is as divided as ever. I’m not going to speak directly to the election itself, but to a lesson I hope we all can take… Read More
